Toolmaker

A toolmaker is a person who specializes in the construction, repair, maintenance, and calibration of the tools, jigs, fixtures, and instruments of a machine shop. Of course a consultancy service or QHSE Department is not a machine shop, but it still needs tools and instruments to do what it is supposed to do. I’d like to see myself as a toolmaker, a professional who translates (theoretical) requirements into practical applications. I do this by using, for example:

• ToolBoxes, including Scope of Work and Terms of Reference briefing documents, kick-off and close-out meeting formats, relevant standards, questionnaires, reporting templates, rating systems, example registers, etc. for:

• (remote) auditing of management systems, risk assessment workshops as part of risk management services for equipment and activities, and  competence assessments.
• Advanced Operational Integrity Management System support by:

• Human, Organizational and Technology (HOT) integrated rating assessments, and(computer-based) documentation structure and formats.
